Botanical Name: Medicago sativa L. Description: Alfalfa has a deep root system highly conducive to absorbing minerals from the soil resulting in a plant rich in vitamins and minerals and a great source of fiber and protein. The seeds are exceptional sprouters and are nutritional powerhouses which make an excellent addition to salads and wonderful sandwich toppers. Directions: To sprout, use 1 teaspoon seeds per quart jar or Easy Sprout Sprouter. Soak in water 10-12 hours, then drain. Rinse seeds 2 to 3 times a day until ready to use (about 5 days). Yields 1 cup sprouts. Quality Notes: Tested to ensure 95% or greater sprouting success. Sprouting success does diminish in seeds stored longer than 6 months to a year.
